As the Analytics Manager and Team Lead for the Offprice Data Enablement team, you will find yourself at the forefront of Offprice-wide analytical initiatives, fostering analytical thinking and a data-driven decision support mindset, being the trusted advisor of your stakeholders, and tackling complex analytical challenges. As part of Zalando Offprice's central data department, you will build a competence center and shape a team of data analysts, IT consultants, and education experts with the mandate to enable data driven decision making and increase data literacy in the Offprice business unit.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Build and lead a team that provides data enablement services to a diverse data community of over 600 overhead FTEs, with a portfolio ranging from long-term consultancy projects in partnership with business and analytical teams to ad-hoc assistance with core tools and services (e.g. Tableau, Collibra) to highly scalable learning formats via the Offprice Data Academy, our in-house upskilling program.
Own the engagement and health of your team and support their continuous growth with your experience in leading an inclusive team.
Define the team's roadmap with the aim of enabling all the departments across Offprice to better analyse and understand data by tackling hard problems like data discovery and usability. Help shape and drive the data strategy for our business unit by helping us discover and understand the biggest pain points and opportunities for the Offprice data community. Drive forward complex analytical topics with your peers such as building up a department's reporting landscape from scratch.
Co-own and drive (with our Learning & Development Manager) the further evolution of our widely popular Offprice Data Academy, which to date has already upskilled 20% of the Offprice overhead workforce.
Enable and engage the Offprice data community in all aspects of data governance - from tools usage (e.g. Collibra) to data management best practices.
Evangelize our products, solutions and strategy internally. Align with major stakeholders and other central technology teams (i.e. Digital Foundation) to shape the future of data at Zalando.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Excellent educational background in IT, Statistics, Business Informatics, or similar quantitative field. Proven track record of 6+ years in a similar role with 2+ years people leadership experience, ideally in an e-commerce environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a curious and self-starter mindset. Excellent stakeholder management and project management skills.
Apply logical and easy-to-understand frameworks to deal with complex issues and propose new analytical approaches & solutions.
Passion for big data and data management topics combined with pragmatism to drive actions and impact. You have advanced proficiency in data querying with SQL. Proficiency with data transformation and statistical computing in Python or R is a plus.
Extensive individual hands-on experience of visualizing your data insights with tools like Tableau, Google Data Studio etc.
