About the Role
Workday operates at incredible scale and with that scale comes big challenges. How do we ensure key parts of that architecture operate efficiently and effectively, ensuring that our customers have a reliant and performant system that they need to execute their mission critical business operations? How do we provide highly performant communications framework and routing solutions to promote standardized operations across multi-process, distributed environments? These are the topics that we need our Frameworks Engineering - Communications product manager to obsess over.
As a Technical Product Manager in Frameworks Engineering - Communications, you are critical to the success of every Workday customer:
Necessary Skills and Experience:
Define product vision and strategy
Work closely with technical architects, development, operations, and infrastructure organizations
Guide the application of latest industry thinking into our technology platform to improve performance, reliability and scalability
Guide feature and service requirements based on Data Driven decisions
Work with development teams to execute on the roadmap and deliver business value
Measure and accomplish Workday OKRs through data driven decision making
Desirable skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Solid understanding of operations of complex systems in private and public data centers
Highly self-motivated and strong customer empathy
An excellent communicator, written and verbal, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment
A systematic thinker able to extract simplicity from complexity
Can manage multiple projects in a large organization
Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results
Proven track record of thought leadership in product management
4+ years of product management, consulting, or development experience
Experience with network routing
- Experience with RPC and serialization
- Experience in distributed systems
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Software Testing and Deployment pipelines
Experience in building highly scalable, dynamically deployed, reliable systems
Experience with in-memory object graph systems
Experience with SaaS
Experience with automation technologies
