Job Description
Workday is looking for an experienced Sr Manager, Federal Compliance to help lead our US Federal Government compliance program within our Finance People Operations (FPO) organization, consisting of Payroll, Stock Administration, Employee Expense & Corporate Card, Payroll Accounting, and Mobility. You will lead a team that supports the ongoing operations of Workday’s US Federal contracting practice. Your team will be responsible for the overall program strategy, roadmap, audit and contract support for our expanding US Federal practice. In addition to people leadership skills you should have deep knowledge with respect to federal contacting including FAR, OFCCP, DCAA Processes, & general US Federal contract execution & audit experience as it pertains to Finance People Operations (Payroll, Stock, Expense, & Mobility).
About the Role

  • Support the development of strategy and prioritize execution of the roadmap for the FPO Compliance Program

  • Manage multiple interdependent global projects of high complexity and broad scope

  • Design and implement large scale systems solutions for FPO compliance

  • Work with one to many system integrators from initial RFP through final solution implementation

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and maintain compliant and effective processes, policies, controls, documentation and metrics

  • Provide compliance subject matter support and guidance to the business and other stakeholders

  • Influence and assist business/process owners to adopt processes that will help grow the business in a compliant manner

  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of the end-to-end Compliance Program, including the framework, policies and procedures, risk assessments, issue management, and training

  • Coordinate closely with FPO Program Manager for US government contract compliance to incorporate relevant projects into the project roadmap for compliance initiatives related to selling to Federal Government customers

  • Coordinate the interactions between regulators/examiners to ensure successful completion of Compliance audits or examinations

  • Maintain deep knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards including US federal government contracting requirements

  • Develop messaging, talking points, and presentation content to socialize and ensure alignment to compliance strategy, goals, and objectives

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required

  • 15+ years of experience required; previous compliance leadership required

  • 10+ years of experience focused in financial operations compliance including some combination of payroll, stock, expense, mobility, and accounting

  • US payroll and mobility program compliance experience preferred

  • Experience in a large multi-national and multi-state organization preferably in high-tech, consulting, or technology cloud services environment

  • Experience with identifying and defining issues, building project plans to address them, and managing the implementation of their solutions, including evaluating systems solutions

  • Experience and knowledge of US Federal Government contract compliance preferred (OFCCP, FAR)

  • Experience developing and leading large-scale, global initiatives

  • Possesses excellent leadership and influencing skills, including with executive presence

  • Able to initiate, embrace and support change in a dynamic and complex environment
