The Productivity Technology team is looking for a Product Strategist, positioned at the leadership level, responsible for partnering with our product teams to develop mid-to-long term product strategy across our organisation. The role requires a servant-leader with the ability to engage senior product leaders, providing strategic thought leadership, strategy frameworks and hands on partnership - augmenting the teams to support the development of product and organisational strategy.
Productivity Technology delivers multiple products and technologies to our Workday Application teams and directly to our customers. From a Productivity Suite through to an Omnichannel Engagement platform, our products being rich, familiar experiences, differentiated through the power of Workday data.
Reporting to the VP of Productivity Technology, the Snr Principal Product Strategy will collaborate with the product teams to drive forward high-level strategy and mid-to-long term roadmap focused on individual product areas along with combining capabilities for a broader cohesive offering - with particular focus on the Office of the CIO. They will work across a wide variety of cross-functional stakeholders, teams, and product areas and be a driving force, leading and augmenting strategy across the organization.
Given the dynamic nature of Workday and the diverse, extensive reach of Productivity Technology, the Strategist must always be looking forward, anticipating different alternatives and options to determine and articulate our strategy.
About the role:
Work with the product teams to help develop cohesive strategy.
Provide data driven insights to leadership on the market and industry across one to three year time horizons.
Translate key market / industry / technology trends, competitive intelligence and prospect / customer feedback into actionable and innovative product capabilities.
Create product vision based on the market opportunity, target customers, product positioning, competitive analysis and go-to-market plan. Ensures alignment with Product Strategy to enable a unified vision.
Partner closely with Product teams, Sales, Marketing and Services to define how we commercialize, launch and deliver new products and functionality.
Gain strong understanding of External market, competitive landscape and how Workday’s customers position and prefer Workday’s product offerings in this space
Work with the Product teams to define and maintain the long-term (three year) product strategy and investment priorities that inform the roadmap and ensure clarity of vision.
Create the three year roadmap and plan across a variety of teams, tools, and organizations
Work with strategic customers to define the participation, direction and focus for the customer / industry advisory councils.
Provide thought leadership and vision for the Productivity Technology space and communicate the vision and roadmap for Sales, Marketing and key Workday Customer Center visits.
Communicate with industry analysts to articulate our strategy and optimize our positioning relative to the competition.
Has deep domain knowledge of Product Strategy development; Have a passion for learning at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies and implications.
Experience creating, launching and communicating enterprise software product strategies.
Understands the overall Workday product portfolio and customers and can leverage existing assets to create strategic solutions that drive customer value.
Partners well with internal and external stakeholders to create and deploy product, marketing, sales and delivery strategies.
Ability to learn quickly on a fast-paced team including highly technical areas
Passionate for information consumption, synthesis, analysis, identifying the signal through the noise to develop concepts and conceptual models
Run planning scenarios to develop revenue projections and identify strategic risks
Ability to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and professionally
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort with communication with senior executives
Team-player attitude with eagerness to dig into the details
Ability to think about problems from different perspectives and leverage data driven analysis to drive roadmap development and prioritization.

Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, marketing, strategy or related field; MBA a plus!
