Workday’s Public Cloud Operations team supports a growing environment that consists of multiple services in a number of expanding AWS regions in which the Workday application runs on. The team is composed of highly skilled Engineers spanning multiple geographies from Pleasanton, CA to Dublin, Ireland. Our mission is to focus 100% on AWS Production Operations by helping the business deliver new products and features, supporting the growing customer base, and maintaining operational excellence across all facets of our public cloud environment.About the Role
Workday is looking for a Manager to build and lead its Public Cloud FedRAMP team in Boston as Workday continues to grow and expand. The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:
Build, lead, and mentor a Public Cloud FedRAMP team in Boston, responsible for both Systems and Network activities within Workdays FedRAMP Public Cloud Environments in AWS.
Responsible for ensuring governance, security controls, and operational efficiency of Workdays FedRAMP Public Cloud environments are met and maintained.
Acts as an escalation resource for other Operation and Support teams when troubleshooting Public Cloud FedRAMP related problems.
Work with vendors and service providers on evaluating new technology and solutions, and resolving any outstanding issues with existing solutions.
Propose and implement improvements/changes to technology, automation and processes to ensure critical services are secured and available.
Analyze work processes to determine inefficiencies and opportunities for automation.
Support weekly production code deployment activities.
Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 Internet-oriented production environment, preferably across multiple data centers, involving AWS Public Cloud environments.
Experience with FedRAMP governance, security controls, and compliance frameworks.
A solid grasp of Linux and networking fundamentals, preferably including previous hands-on experience.
Software development background with an automation mindset and familiarity with code repositories & pipelines.
Experience on and a passion for cloud technologies such as AWS or Google, infrastructure as code, automation etc.
Handle multiple projects and tasks, make decisions and solve problems while under pressure, and prioritize and organize effectively.
Strong interpersonal and technical skill to lead the day-to-day activities of the team and build relationships with the extended organization
10+ years of IT experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in a management role.
BA/BS degree or related equivalent field experience.
