Job Description
We are seeking a strong technical engineer to help us establish a DevOps function in our product area. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently as well as network across the company, advancing our internal initiatives as well as identifying opportunities to leverage the skills and capabilities outside our team.
About the Team
Workday Applications Quality Engineering team is a cross-functional team providing Jenkins pipeline support, automation, patch sign-off, administrating infrastructure and tooling with the AWS cloud for various internal services. The Workday Applications Quality Engineering team is looking for enthusiastic DevOps Pipeline Engineers. About the role
This role will serve as a founding member of a DevOps function in the Applications Quality Engineering team. You will:
  • Build and mature Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and the related production environments.
  • Design, implement, maintain and support the platform services associated.
  • Configure monitoring and alerting systems for the applications and platform-services.
  • Work with the Leadership and be accountable for aligning the team to architectural, technical, functional and performance guidelines related with the CI/CD pipelines.
  • Enhance team technical capabilities and workforce by using cutting-edge technologies from the DevOps culture.
About You:
We are seeking a strong technical engineer to help us establish a DevOps function in our product area. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently as well as network across the company, advancing our internal initiatives as well as identifying opportunities to leverage the skills and capabilities outside our team.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years of solid DevOps Pipeline experience.
  • Solid experience with Jenkins.
  • Excellent knowledge of Branching, Merging and deployment strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge in at least one of the following: Groovy, Unix/Linux Shell Scripting.
  • Experience using a public cloud provider AWS.
  • Experience with configuration management & infrastructure automation such as: Ansible, Terraform.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing, firewalls.
