About the Role
The ideal candidate is an outstanding leader and editor with hands-on experience editing technical documentation for enterprise application software while leading a group of editors who ensure quality content targeted to professional and technical audiences.
Leads a geographically distributed team responsible for editing and delivering high-quality documentation for a targeted audience.
Represents editorial interests across all product areas, coordinating with peer managers and stakeholders responsible for product-specific content deliverables.
Assesses content requirements, identifies cross-team impacts, and coordinates resources to ensure successful execution.
Provides feedback on schedules, audience requirements, and larger Information Development initiatives.
Steps in and assists with all editorial deliverables for all parts of the organization.
Coaches and supports experienced editors; mentors and guides junior editors.
Interacts with local leadership, peer managers, and worldwide senior management.
Works closely with various Workday teams to ensure outstanding content.
We're looking for someone who can champion the role of editors on a content team, ensure that editorial provides quality feedback for writers and leadership at all levels, and provide support for career growth and professional development of team members.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Has attained at least a staff or senior level of experience in an editorial role.
Ability to lead a specialized team of editors with multiple functional elements and responsibilities.
Nurtures strong relationships within the team, across Information Development, and throughout Workday.
Outstanding leadership and people-management skills.
Noteworthy skills in organization, communication, and time-management.
Detailed understanding of how to produce technical documentation, including requirements, the delivery process, and editorial's role throughout.
Expert-level understanding of Workday’s audience and Information Development's content, processes, style, and methodology.
Proactively communicates with leaders across functions, product areas, time zones, and organizations.
Established history of leading initiatives or cross-team projects to successful outcomes.
Experience editing and developing a diversity of technical content types across multiple product areas.
