Manager, Strategic Finance - Global Franchising

This role will report to the Head of Real Estate Finance to assist with the financial oversight of our franchise business. This is a highly visible role that will be supporting the building of the infrastructure to execute the business plan and vision for franchising at WeWork. Responsibilities will include P&L management, annual budgeting, exposure to all aspects of transaction evaluation and execution, business plan development, and long-term financial planning.
Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain the 5 year operating financial model for the business line; Routinely evaluate operating KPIs and the overall P&L of the business

  • Lead the compilation of the division’s annual budget; Drive monthly/quarterly budget vs. actuals analysis

  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance and reporting materials submitted by external partners

  • Serve as the end-to-end Finance project manager for all strategy-led projects from reviewing the project brief to forming strategic recommendations

  • Lead cross-functional projects to evaluate the financial impact of the division’s near and long-term strategic initiatives and collaborate with the broader FP&A team to incorporate into financial plans

  • Work in tandem with the Transactions team from development through execution of definitive documents; Support negotiations of transaction terms and legal documentation

  • Perform valuation analyses for transactions, including discounted cash flow, public company and precedent M&A multiples methodologies

  • Manage the due diligence process for all global franchise transactions and serve as the project manager within the broader Finance division

  • Prepare materials for Board of Directors meetings, monthly business reviews, quarterly reporting, and earnings calls

  • Assist with the creation of investment memos and related presentations for review with the Global executive team and senior management

Who We Are Seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution

  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate development at a Fortune 100 company, or real estate acquisitions & dispositions

  • Expert capabilities in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Extensive experience in financial modeling, analysis and data aggregation

  • Self-starter capable of working both independently and as part of a small team

  • Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Teamwork, cooperation, and ability to take direction

  • Reliable, focused, and detail-oriented with the ability to consistently meet deadlines

  • Strong time management skills and experience running multiple projects at a time

  • Operate with high degree of tact and diplomacy; Client service orientation

  • M&A or capital markets transaction experience in real estate is a plus
