Director of Procurement - FF&E or Corporate Services

About the Role
WeWork is looking for a skilled Procurement Professional to lead all Procurement and Sourcing activities for CorporateServices or Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment (FF&E). This person will lead the strategy for their categories and work in partnership with senior stakeholders to ensure consistency and coverage across our global activities. This position will drive the transformation of how WeWork will operate in the future and ensure we build a scalable and measurable procurement operation to adequately support both the development of new assets and the operation of the existing fleet of assets in both the deployment of Capex and Opex. The role requires the individual to demonstrate a deep understanding of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, inventory management, logistics and people management as well as an ability to lead and transform processes and execution across the business. This individual will be experienced in deploying procurement practices by using a combination of in house and external resources. This role will be procuring and deploying procurement strategies across multiple categories. They will also need to build relationships with senior cross-functional stakeholders across the entire organization to ensure compliance and execution excellence. Finally, this individual will need to have a deeper understanding of supply market dynamics to ensure maximum cost savings through procurement with the experience and ability to train business stakeholders as needed.
Corporate Services will include the following categories; FF&E, Fin Ops, IT, Technology, Marketing, Legal and HR.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Drive global and regional approach to Procurement for all cost centers included within the assigned categories.

    • Demonstrate deep subject matter expertise within the FF&E or Corporate Services industries and become a trusted partner and advisor to business stakeholders.

    • Partner with international regions to develop regional product supply chain strategies to meet pipeline volume and schedule

    • Make recommendation on best option for (i) Specify, (ii) Specify & Source, (iii) Specify, Source, and Buy within region

    • Evangelize Global Procurement Policy and train new employees or business stakeholders.

    • Research, source, negotiate, and execute contracts with vendors to meet the companies delivery objectives

    • Complete Cost impact analysis with a strong focus on Total Acquisition Cost

    • Lead the development of a reliable network of vendors and consultants on a Global, Regional, National, and Local basis that aligns to the various requirements of the company across all Capex and Opex Cost Centers

    • Responsible for developing a multi-regional sourcing plan to identify, pre-qualify, and negotiate commercial terms/MSA’s with Contractors/Consultant services; assessing experience and fit-for WeWork brand, culture and business goals

    • Work with corporate legal to develop commercial terms to minimize risk and create enhanced contract terms for WeWork

    • Establish KPI/SLA targets + metrics to formalize supplier management

    • Establish and lead commodity teams for products and services; serve as lead negotiator and primary point of contact for suppliers

    • Coordinate the review of proposed contracts with respect to financial terms; incorporate Terms; intellectual property rights; service terms; WeWork liability; and conformance to WeWork policies and applicable legal guidelines. Seek expert opinions and internal consult as necessary

    • Evaluate financial and operational (personnel or process-related) effects of proposed contract provisions

    • Evaluate existing processes as they relate to the sourcing and supply chain discipline but with a mindset of coordination and inclusion of all design, development and operations disciplines

    • Analyze and present key procurement data and metrics to Global leadership team, business leadership, identifying areas of opportunity

    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships to meet the needs of WeWork and its clients

    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives

    • Act as a chain agent to simplify and streamline processes and supply chain models across globally

  • Qualifications

    • B.S. / B.A. degree in Business (or other related degree programs), MBA preferred

    • 8+ years of Strategic Sourcing experience or procurement consulting experience

    • Corporate Services: 3+ years of continuous experience managing at least 2 of the following categories: Fin ops, legal, IT, Building Tech/Telecom, Marketing, or HR.

    • FF&E: 5+ years of continuous experience (preferably vendor-side) working within a global FF&E supply chain highly preferred.

    • Experience utilizing an end to end source to pay platform (Ariba, Coupa, Etc.) implementation experience a plus.

    • Demonstrated success of leading cross functional project teams to achieving quantifiable savings by applying sourcing methods. Transformation experience a plus.

    • Ability to drive change in a global decentralized organization with minimum supervision

    • Champions best practice processes, tools, and commitment to provide quality procurement products & service

    • Experience with establishing and maintaining strong relationships and leading cross-functional stakeholders across levels without direct reporting lines for successful engagement in strategy and execution

    • Experience analyzing spend data and developing category roadmapsSpend management transformation

    • Ability to prioritize tasks to align with a pipeline of multiple projects and report on costs savings expectations
