An engineering position that will play a key role in Architecting, Maintaining APM - Application Performance Management tools and provide Subject Matter Expertise to solve complex application performance problems. You will ensure the most effective and efficient utilization of IT resources, while delivering best in class application performance platform. You will have a deep technical understanding of distributed systems application architecture, open systems infrastructure and internal private cloud hosting environments
Drive engineering, certification and security aspects of Application Performance Management monitoring tools and services for on-prem APM Platform
Follow good engineering practices and concepts and adhere to audit requirements and understand corporate compliance issues and requirements.
Manage identified security vulnerabilities, work with vendor to develop remediations, and track to resolution in timely manner
Support in triaging and troubleshooting of issues related to performance degradation incidents in production environment using Application Performance Management tools and Subject Matter Expertise
Monitor application performance, optimize performance bottlenecks and usage to develop application capacity models
Development of custom tooling for extensions and integrations of application monitoring tools with external systems, such as CMDB, ServiceNow.
Help optimizing system components such as CPU/Memory/Disk/Network & OS/Application software for maximizing the computer resources utilization.
4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) from an accredited school or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree
Minimum of 4-6 years' hands-on experience in using any Application Performance Management tools - Aternity APM/AppDynamics/Dynatrace
Expert in APM instrumentation of multi-tier services on legacy VM or physical on-premises hosts, on-premises container-based runtimes.
Strong skills on Linux (RHEL) system administration
High level of comfort with shell scripting and shell usage
Working knowledge of protocols including HTTP, LDAP; data formats including XML and JSON, basic knowledge of end-to-end transport security (SSL/TLS).
Working knowledge of network usage related to an application/OS stack performance and stability (e.g., packet capture and analysis, performance of application TCP listeners, client > server TCP negotiation, usage of load balancer or network failover)
Working knowledge of Docker containers, Kubernetes
Expert knowledge in hardware, software, and distributed applications environments and solid understanding of their associated capacity and performance indicators
Experience with Spunk queries
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, facilitation and leadership skills.
Deeply self-motivated with the ability to work independently, coordinating activities within cross-regional and multi-functional teams
