When you join Verizon

Verizon is a leading provider of technology, communications, information and entertainment products, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our ambition and united in our shared purpose to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.
What you’ll be doing...

You will learn from dedicated professionals across Verizon as you develop a strong foundation of skills to create a positive impact on our organization. In this two-year rotational program, you will experience multiple hands-on HR job rotations across the organization that allow you to grow in both your tactical execution and strategic partnership capabilities with business leaders.
As an HR VLDP, you may have the opportunity to:
  • Experience four rotations focusing on developing your business, technical and leadership skills as an HR Business Partner and within the HR Centers of Excellence, supporting employee engagement and managing employee relations.
  • Participate in leadership/management development curriculum and structured network-building activities.
  • Experience opportunities to use your skills in impactful projects, meetings and presentations to senior leadership.
  • Constantly be challenged to generate smart solutions to business problems.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
If you are interested in other internship roles and locations in addition to this one, please submit your application to those postings as well in order to be considered.
This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
What we’re looking for...

You’re a motivated self-starter with a strong passion for what we do. Never satisfied with the status quo, you’re always trying to beat a personal best. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where new challenges come up every day. Showing empathy in response to others’ needs comes naturally to you. You are flexible, dependable and work well in varying environments. Learning quickly is personally rewarding and inspires you to take smart risks.
You’ll need to have:
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Human Resources, Labor Relations or a related major with an expected completion date by June 2022.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to work in Basking Ridge, NJ.
  • Willingness to relocate. Long- or short-term rotations may be throughout our U.S. footprint.

Even better if you have:
  • Previous internship in human resources and/or demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in human resources.
  • Coursework or previous internship experience in the following: data analytics, organizational design, human resources management, leadership and change management.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to understand multiple perspectives and customer needs.
  • Experience working with others to resolve difficult conflicts.
  • Experience with leading and working easily with a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
