About the Role
Strategic Operations Managers are responsible for developing functional business strategies, such as how we balance our marketplace, run markets, and identify operational weaknesses. They balance improving or innovating processes with setting and delivering on core goals to meet business needs.
We're looking for a highly motivated individual to join our South US Operations team. If you love leading complex projects and multiple cross-functional partners, and solving problems from both 30,000 feet as well as deep in the details, this is the role for you! The ideal candidate will excel at solving complex problems, managing multiple workstreams, and engaging with partners to deliver on goals that unlock growth and ensure our markets run smoothly. The candidate should have a strong background in data analytics and enjoy applying both a quantitative and qualitative lens to complex issues.
We generate vast amounts of data every day and use it to inform everything we do: ensure balance in the marketplace, identify ways to continually make the Uber experience better for drivers and riders, deploy incentives and promotions, respond to regulatory requests, understand customer behavior, develop and launch new product offerings, and more.
What We Do
  • Identify business priorities such as growth opportunities or weaknesses and help drive the team's strategy to improve or innovate processes
  • Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reporting and analysis on key business metrics or challenges
  • Present models, findings, and insights to senior management to drive decisions
  • Collaborate with other Operations teams, as well as policy, legal, marketing, product, etc. to ensure that insights inform broader initiatives
  • Own functional business strategies as well as local market strategies, and monitor, correct, and execute business processes
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience
  • Data-first problem solver with excellent Excel/data analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in data analytics/strategy/consulting/business intelligence or related experience
  • SQL and Python experience a plus
  • Some high-growth operations, tech, or startup experience is strongly preferred
  • Outstanding communication and organization skills
  • Strong, proven leadership capabilities
  • Self-motivated, works well independently, and possesses strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong partner and project management skills, as well as the ability to both plan and execute projects of varying time horizons and scope with minimal guidance
