About the Role
The Uber Eats TPM leads product development initiatives together with Engineering and Product Managers to execute on Global business priorities and strategic initiatives that require specialized resource allocation and cross-functional collaboration. The Ads TPM will work closely with stakeholders including engineering, product and product operations.
Projects Overview & Expectations
  • Overall Technical Program Management of the Ads product providing a solution for merchants across Restaurants, Grocery and Convenience to advertise on Eats.
  • Coordination and involvement across all areas including business development, product and engineering, global product operations and external technology partners.
  • Plan and execute on Eats business priorities as it relates to matters involving sponsored listings across all mega-regions, with a primary focus on the internal engineering, processes and support surrounding the Ads "auction engine" and its implementation.
  • Strategic projects may include custom work to support large merchant chains, or integrate other major Ads-related products in the advertising space.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor, maintain, support and evolve Uber's Ads systems and processes ultimately supporting advertisers across the globe.
  • Work with deal makers and various teams such as product, engineering, product marketing, operations, legal to derive maximum value for our partnerships.
  • Drive the global delivery of Ads products alongside our partners by leading resourcing, timelines, and dependencies with key stakeholders' input.
  • Be the technical point-of-contact for the Ads team and navigate internal processes to provide the best outcome for projects across the different regions.
  • Assist with the rollout and deployment of new Ads products and features and ensure that Global functionality/nuances are considered when new features are built.
Basic qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years experience as a Technical Program Manager or engineering manager in a software, SaaS, or mobile development environment.
  • Experienced in project management. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to thrive in fast moving, ambiguous environments where priorities are ever changing as the business grows and adapts globally.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Solid technical aptitude and an understand technical design, challenges, and risks. Engineers enjoy working closely with you and you with engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence. Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills to lead multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills. Uses data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
  • Metrics-driven: Experience resolving effective program KPIs and using them to measure program success and issues.
  • Computer Science degree, or related field.
