To properly manage business partnerships, maintain operational continuity, and guide organizational evolution as Twitter grows we are hiring an IT Business Operations Lead. This position will partner heavily with other leaders in IT to drive IT strategy, explore and influence fundamentals of IT operations, and enhance how we work and engage with internal partners in service to our customers. Our mission is to keep the Twitter business running effectively, to deliver value while maintaining a healthy, secure, and scalable IT environment.
Job Description
You will report to the Head of IT, and own and drive the organizations business operations. You will partner heavily with leadership, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Engineers, and others in operations roles. Specifically, you will:

  • Design, lead, and drive effective organizational change of operational norms, focusing on productivity and operational excellence and building alignment with the other key parts of the company

  • Reset and then drive the operational / execution cadence for the entire org in service to Company priorities

  • Program-manage business processes such as but not limited to: budget tracking, business portfolio health, contingent workforce, and Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Program-manage key workstreams aimed at helping IT stay aligned with and meet company goals

  • Drive technical program operations using your knowledge of engineering roles and work

  • Bring key insights and trusted independent advice; service as a consultant and trusted advisor

  • Drive organizational efficiency through standardizing meeting structures, communications processes, and internal training opportunities

  • Partner with IT Leadership to define IT organizational planning and talent management

  • Define cadence and structure for IT planning sessions and organizational meetings

  • Challenge, refine, and partner with IT Leadership to build strong operational processes, including but not limited to cross functional processes


  • 6+ years operations, and program-management experience preferably with 6+ years of experience in business and technical planning

  • Experience developing and program-managing company-wide and organization-wide projects

  • Experience working in tech, preferably companies in-between the start-up and established-company stage

  • Experience in organizational change across a distributed team
