The #TwitterSocial team is responsible for driving engagement, advocacy and positive brand sentiment across all major social media platforms, as well as serving as a company-wide center of social media excellence. As Head of Social Operations, this role will be at the center of the rapidly evolving social marketing practice at Twitter, responsible for managing a variety of integrated functions essential to the success of the team. Beyond these core functions, this role will be a key tone-setter for the entire social marketing team, serving as both the right hand to the Global Director and a shared source of support for all members of #TwitterSocial.
Job Description

This role will perform the following leadership & managerial duties:

Social Operations & Project Management
The role will also lead a growing team of project managers responsible for ensuring the entire social marketing team is functioning at its optimal level, tracking key project milestones, budgets and performance analytics across priority initiatives as well as continuously innovating our workflow processes to maximize efficiencies.
Social Marketing Tooling & Innovation
This role will also help lead efforts to explore tools, services, and other technical ways to elevate the productivity and capabilities of the Global Social & Editorial team. Scope will include both internal facing (i.e. Sprinklr, Brandwatch) and external facing (i.e. Fooji) tools / services.
Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across select non-marketing verticals across the company to share and implement the latest best practices in social

  • Establishing core performance benchmarks and reporting deliverables as part of the ongoing project manager responsibilities within the social team

  • Ongoing management and tracking of the annual social team budget

  • Keeping a pulse on team bandwidth, elevating both high performance and concern areas to the Global Director


  • Ideal candidate has 8 - 10 years digital and/or social marketing experience

  • Demonstrated passion for internet culture, technology, and social media (Twitter-specific is obviously a plus)

  • Strong project management experience, attention to detail, and ability to effectively introduce new workflow processes

  • Deep experience leading both horizontally and vertically within a complex, matrixed organization

  • Basic fluency with MS Excel, Google Productivity suite, project management and social publishing tools (Jira, Sprinklr, etc)
