Twitter is seeking a Director, Privacy and Data Protection Program and Operations, reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer to provide strategic leadership and planning across the Privacy and Data Protection department to maximize the value of the team to achieve organizational goals through rigorous operational metrics.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Help lead and deploy the privacy mission, strategy and vision cross-functionally to all departments within Twitter, by building strong partnerships, collaboration and alignment across all levels of management.

  • Support day to day operations of the department: budgeting, hiring, communications, operating rhythms and process, policy and technology improvements.

  • Conduct analysis on financials, strategy, and operations and advise the CPO with concise, specific recommendations.

  • Develop, implement, manage, and scale privacy awareness and education campaigns.

  • Key partner and driver on the outreach, marketing, and communications initiative to show leadership and brand impact around Twitter privacy initiatives.

  • Manage, mentor, and cultivate a team of experienced Privacy and Data Protection operations and program management professionals.

  • Build, scale, and maintain effective operations and program management processes and infrastructure.

  • Devise and implement metrics to provide visibility into operational workload to identify areas for improvements.

  • Support program management team in building scalable program management playbook to efficiently maximise resources and impact.

  • Help oversee and scale the operations team and our privacy review process.

  • Support the team in ensuring demands from our privacy and data protection incident response and regulatory investigations are met.

  • Closely partner with our product and other counsel teams to ensure we have visibility across business units and offer consistent guidance on key areas that cross the organization.

  • Create and provide training and written guidance to legal team members, clients and cross-functional stakeholders on process and programs.

  • Work collaboratively across multiple functions.

  • Pitch in where it’s needed, we’re a small team so we all pull our weight to get things done.

We guide clients with clear, practical advice in a fast-paced environment to make sure we’re delivering for our customers. We are looking for people who are collaborative, flexible, self-motivated, curious, creative, and clear communicators (both written and verbal). Successful candidates will have significant management experience and have expertise in building an operations and program management team for success.

  • 10+ years of building successful operational and or program management teams that are effective and inefficient.

  • 5+ years of management experience.

  • Strategic leadership and planning experience.

  • Exceptional project management skills and knowledge, including management of a program management office and team.

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively based on your audience.

  • Ability to effectively work with, develop relationships, and collaborate across stakeholders both within and outside of Legal.

  • Comfortable in a technical environment and with technical jargon.

  • Solution-oriented, customer service, and growth mindset.

  • Experience and comfort with Confluence, Atlassian, tableau products valued.

  • Experience with regulatory investigations is preferred but not required.

  • IAPP CIPP certification is preferred but not required.

  • Experience gained working in fast moving legal compliance, digital marketing, social media, information security environments is preferred but not required.
