The Ethics Program is part of our broader Ethics & Compliance Program and is designed to strengthen and further embed values of trust, honesty, integrity among our employees globally. You will be responsible for all aspects of the Ethics Program including the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, the conflicts of interest review process, training and communications, monitoring, and program enhancements.
You will work closely with teammates in Compliance and colleagues in Legal, People Org and other functions across the Company. You'll help to continue to develop the compliance culture at Twitter and embed integrity and compliance initiatives as our company grows.
We're looking for an experienced professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with broad responsibilities including:
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining, updating and enhancing the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics to ensure its relevance and effectiveness
Training and communications are a key part of the role - you will
Develop engaging online training to educate all employees on the Code
Develop and deliver informative and engaging training to leaders and managers
Develop and implement a communications plan to help keep ethics and integrity top of mind
Managing the conflicts of interest disclosure process, including providing guidance to employees at all levels on avoidance of actual or apparent conflicts
Supporting regional compliance needs for ethics-related guidance and content
Answering ethics-related questions that arise across the Company
Collaborating and working closely with key stakeholders and partners across the organization, including legal, finance, HR, business teams, managers and other control functions to embed compliance culture and practices in daily operations and activities;
Periodic monitoring and testing, and development of or improvement of key program metrics to identify insights and trends, and development of plans to respond to those trends;
Create periodic reporting on program deliverables and effectiveness for audiences including the Board of Directors, Staff and leaders across Twitter
Conducting an annual risk assessment to anticipate, identify, document and manage key program risks and dependencies and strategic program enhancements
Review findings, conclusions and reports of internal investigations and audits to identify additional areas for program enhancementMonitoring industry and regulatory developments, and making compliance recommendations;
Be an ambassador for Twitter’s Ethics & Compliance program
Pursuing continuing education to maintain knowledge of current ethics and compliance rules and practices.
5+ years (though more is welcome) of your experience is directly relevant to this Compliance role, (at least two years of in-house experience preferred);
Experience leading an Ethics function for a multinational publicly-traded company;
Substantive expertise in ethics and familiarity with other core compliance related subjects including anti-bribery and anti-corruption law, global trade compliance, and investigations.
Demonstrated sound business and legal judgment;
Forward-thinking and strategic, looking not only at what will work now, but what will work 3 or 5 or more years from now;
Entrepreneurial mindset: flexible, self-starting and hard-working, generating new and innovative solutions as we build out the Compliance program;
Comfortable working in a company experiencing rapid growth and evolution and that is the subject of intense public scrutiny;
Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Outstanding oral, written and presentation communication skills, fluency in English is required;
Strong influencing skills as well as excellent collaboration skills to engage with high performance teams and colleagues in different functions and at different levels in the company;
Willing and able to travel to Twitter headquarters and regional offices as needed
Law degree (e.g. JD or equivalent) strongly preferred.
