The Role
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and solution-oriented Global Trade Analyst to support Trade compliance for Gigafactory Berlin.

Responsibilities


  • Primary contact for Tesla’s import customs operation and classification
  • Supervise Tesla’s customs broker activities through periodic reconciliation of import data with accounting payable information.
  • Communicate with customs authorities to respond to inquiries/inspections.
  • Contribute to the development of Tesla’s Global Classification program.
  • Support projects related to trade preference solicitation, qualification and application.
  • Determine accurate country of origin and trade preference qualification status
  • Coordinate and align with cross-functional teams at Gigafactory Berlin for this position especially Procurement, Finance/Accounting/Treasury and Logistics
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Train other team members and new hires on trade, compliance & duty mitigation operations so they may support various initiatives.


Requirements


  • 5+ years of Customs/Trade Consulting/In-house Trade management experience
  • Production/OEM experience
  • High Level Import classification experience, including a strong understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule. Experience classifying products in the German tariff nomenclature.
  • Experience utilizing classification, country of origin, and trade preference knowledge to qualify products for various Free Trade Agreements.
  • Good technical understanding of Automotive / High Tech industry
  • AEO experience
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Customs procedures with economic impact experience
  • Self-starter who can execute with minimal direction
  • Fluent in English and German
