Responsibilities
  • Partner with Service Operations and Reliability Engineering to build warranty cost model to effectively capture expenses as well as analyze trends; utilize model information to manage warranty accrual on balance sheet.
  • Design and implement reporting templates and packages to highlight company’s warranty costs via key metrics.
  • Analyze the warranty run rate through Service Repair Orders and provide insight, trends, and improvement recommendations to senior management
  • Provide input and support for all warranty and related activities for monthly and quarterly analysis and reporting.
  • Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive cross functional Warranty Management process to meet business objectives
  • Control warranty costs, define action plans to tackle potential deviations and predict future costs and recommend potential accrual as necessary
  • Collaborate and liaise with cross functional team members to target warranty reduction. Identify opportunities to reduce warranty costs and support their implementation
  • Maintain phenomenal relationships with Business Partners and Accounting peers to address information reporting needs. Prepare Accounting schedules routinely and as requested for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Document controls, processes and procedures related to warranty and ensure SOX 404 compliance

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area
  • Minimum 5 year experience in Accounting preferably in a large manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes; Knowledge of supply chain, receiving, inventory flow, operations process and manufacturing principles
  • Ability to effectively analyze transactional level detail in an enterprise resource planning system and articulate the key findings to management
  • Strong business skills and effective understanding of financial, distribution and manufacturing systems
  • Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other teams within Finance as well as cross-functionally outside Finance to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements, etc.
  • Excellent Excel skills and the ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data
  • Action-oriented and solution-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment
  • Analytically solid with the desire and competency to come up with out-of-the-box ideas to resolve complex manufacturing Accounting challenges
  • Strong self-starter and leader who can articulate effectively to management and peers to bring about effective change
  • Attention to details and strong organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of SQL database
