The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst to support our Supply Chain teams with analyzing and visualizing data to help with the successful launch and scale of various programs so we can make better decisions as a company. In particular, you will be the lead for ensuring that the large supply chain datasets we have are effectively utilized by the global supply management team. Team members are expected to analyze data, provide recommendations, and lead cross-functional decision-making and implementation of the recommendations with the relevant executives/teams throughout Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing key performance indicators, cost of sales, operating expenses and capital expenditures (includes developing financial models and decision-making tools)
  • Providing strategic insights and conclusions based on this analysis, including writing build plans for factories or setting global pricing for our products
  • Guiding planning and resource management (e.g. headcount, investment approvals, etc.)
  • Identifying initiatives for improvement of Tesla’s financial outlook, including developing, tracking, and executing product development activities and assisting with performance vs. cost tradeoffs throughout the product lifecycle
  • Create reports and data visualizations to guide decision-making across the supply chain team
  • Respond promptly, accurately and efficiently to data requests and questions
  • Communicate your findings effectively to anyone in the company from executives to engineers

Requirements
  • MBA or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics and/or equivalent professional experience (Finance, Accounting, Engineering and other technical degrees are a plus)
  • 2-5 years of experience required in data analysis, research, visualization, and communication
  • Ability to script in Python or similar is required
  • Experience creating dashboards/visualizations using, e.g., Tableau (or similar)
  • Past experience within consulting or investment banking are nice to have
  • A robust analytical skill-set or excellent modeling skills
  • Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and execution focused
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
    • Highly collaborative, team oriented, and comfortable leading cross-functional projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up technology environment and deliver excellent results
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
