The Role
The Supplier Compliance Auditor will drive operational excellence and process compliance within Tesla’s supply base. Flawless and structured execution in the supply chain is a critical enabler for efficient and effective operations at Tesla’s production facilities, and ultimately to enabling timely delivery of products to customers. The Auditor’s primary scope is to review data on potential issues, confirm which of these are true issues, and ensure that the party responsible receives feedback so that they may correct the issue. This feedback loop is critical to ensuring smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Audit all inbound labeling, and packaging materials received into the warehouse through photo image.
  • Become the subject matter expert in areas of compliance to determine if failures are accurately reported through data gathering and provide corrective actions in collaboration with the Supplier Compliance Analyst.
  • Review data on potential non-compliant shipments, and confirm which of these are true non-compliance, and ensure that the party responsible receives feedback so that they can correct the issue identified.
  • Superior attention to detail while reviewing images to ensure labels are of correct size, placement, and format. Must ensure suppliers are shipping in packaging approved by Tesla’s Packaging Engineering team.
  • Identify common failure modes and determine appropriate response and drive resolution.
  • Frequent direct interaction with the Supplier Compliance Analyst or warehouse personnel on repeat supplier non-compliance.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or similar quantitative discipline.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in supply chain, manufacturing or other process critical operations or evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Detail oriented and organized – meticulous in identifying and diagnosing non-compliance and careful in drawing right conclusions
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Passionate and relentless in following up on issues until a final resolution achieved and sustained process improvements are deployed and verified.
  • Great communicator, both internally with the team and with other Tesla stakeholders as well as externally with suppliers – comfortable having difficult conversations.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering results in an unstructured and fast paced environment. Flexibility and adaptability are key.
  • Experience with automotive supply chains and processes a significant plus.
