Role
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to join our Global Trade and Market Access team. The New Market Entry Program Manager will take lead in launching Tesla’s business into new markets. The Program Manager will oversee and direct the cross-functional setup of our business in new markets. Your responsibilities will include guiding and coordinating the activities of all teams involved in market entry such that all workflows match the overall launch plan and timing requirements. You will create and maintain detailed program timelines, project plans, and market entry checklists that account for workflow interdependencies. You will develop a deep knowledge of interdepartmental dependencies and be responsible driving the resolution of issues cross functionally as they arise. This role requires a strong and dedicated team player that is familiar with business operations, has acute attention to detail, and executes at a high caliber.
Responsibilities
  • Manage Tesla’s entry into new markets by planning and executing the opening and operations of Tesla’s business in new markets.
  • Oversee, manage, and track key launch dates and gates. Create and maintain detailed program timelines, project plans, and market entry checklists that account for workflow interdependencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional planning meetings, maintain meeting notes, and hold stakeholders accountable while driving project completion under aggressive timelines.
  • Maintain alignment across all teams on launch plans including Sales, Service, Delivery, Operations, Real Estate, Engineering, Homologation, Legal, Financial Planning, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Human Resources, Payroll, Trade, Logistics, and IT to ensure Tesla’s new market readiness.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and senior management on new market entry progress and risks.
  • Actively engage in the continuous review of market entry efficiency to identify and optimize opportunities for future market entries, and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience managing large cross-functional projects.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing priorities with minimal direction.
  • Excellent business judgment.
  • Confident and articulate communicator. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to provide professional presentations to senior level managers and executive leadership.
  • Ability to work within a complex and fluid, fast-paced, demanding work environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal business functions around the globe as well as external advisors.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project software applications for analysis and presentation.
  • International business experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
