Quality Technician
The Quality Metrology Technician, will ensure that all products meet customer and company requirements by performing inspections of individual components, stampings, castings, and supplier parts. He/she will be required to learn and adhere to company policies, quality & metrology processes as well as safety requirements. An effective candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills. They need to be detail oriented and critical thinkers. He/she must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company. Candidates will also be required to balance multiple projects, utilizing various skill sets in a highly dynamic and diverse working environment. They must be able to work independently, but also be a strong contributor in small and large groups.
Essential Duties:
  • Provide/analyze data and output reports to assist in quality improvement activities
  • Scan components, stampings, castings, and supplier parts using CMM and/or Blue Light scanner
  • Responsible for ensuring quality standards are met and communicated to the broader team
  • Update programs to most current part level
  • Provide presentations and prepare technical reports on product quality and path-forward
  • Any other duties assigned by Manager or Lead

  • CAD: CATIA or 3D CAD experience preferred
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a metrology or quality role operating and programming CMM or Portable CMM, or Blue light scanner
  • Experience with at least one Metrology software (Polyworks, Calypso, PC-DMIS or GOM)
  • Promote and adhere to all Tesla Policies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to travel
