Responsibilities:
  • Perform root causes analysis whole vehicle (all areas and technology) in series and pre-series phase.
  • Develop and propose corrective actions (short- and long-term).
  • Identify and prioritize Dimensional and Craftsmanship issues requiring resolution.
  • Drive resolution of Dimensional and Craftsmanship issues through quantitative data analysis, negotiation and influence.
  • Support the development of measurement requirements to ensure product build meets design criteria.
  • Support local suppliers to ensure dimensional requirements are understood and appropriate fixture designs are in place.
  • Liaising between local manufacturing team and US counterparts.
  • Develop required quality process & measurement strategy with all affected parties to control all critical vehicle interfaces
  • Analyze and report on results of pre-production builds (complete, analyzed, and well communicated)
  • Track status, report analysis outcome and progress for critical issues at management level.

Requirements:
  • 1D and 3D dimensional variation analysis.
  • Fluent in English, with strong spoken, reading and writing communication skills
  • Degree qualified or similar qualification in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design discipline as well as experience within the automotive industry
  • Good level of numeracy, literacy and logical reasoning skills.
  • Five years of automotive or complex product design knowledge experience.
  • Catia or similar CAD system experience.
  • An understanding of how subjective data can be measured or quantified to develop robust, representative targets.
  • VisVSA or 3DCS analysis experience.
  • Ability to statistically analyze measurement data in order to root cause dimensional issues and recommend mitigation and solution actions.
  • Production Operations Knowledge - Basic understanding of complex production lines operations and production methods of entire vehicle systems
  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturability, process design, process validation, and assembly methods.
  • Design for Six sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to define gauging and checking Fixture design strategies
  • Experience to specify GD&T drawings or CAD models as well as detailed knowledge of 3D dimensional variation analysis
  • Professional communication and interaction with supply base
  • Must be able to collaborate cohesively with co-workers, while demonstrating initiative and capability to work independently
  • Teamplayer; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s degree in supporting field is highly preferred)
