THE ROLEThe Autopilot Hardware team is looking for a Performance Engineer to work in Austin, TX. Performance engineers are expected to understand the design, analyze performance and make recommendations for improving performance of the autopilot system.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Build high-level performance models and analyze system performance
- Develop microarchitecture specification for performance features
- Define and write performance validation tests and analyze results
- Debug performance bottlenecks and issues in hardware or simulation
REQUIREMENTS- Candidate must have Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in performance modeling, analysis and optimization
- Good knowledge and understanding of CPU and SoC architecture
- Root causing performance issues and ability to debug esoteric symptoms
- Good understanding of digital hardware and design concepts
- Strong OOP expertise in C++, Python or similar programming language
- Go-getter attitude and capable of pursuing tough engineering challenges to final solutions
- Experience developing specifications working with cross functional engineers
