THE ROLE
The Autopilot Hardware team is looking for a Performance Engineer to work in Austin, TX. Performance engineers are expected to understand the design, analyze performance and make recommendations for improving performance of the autopilot system.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build high-level performance models and analyze system performance
• Develop microarchitecture specification for performance features
• Define and write performance validation tests and analyze results
• Debug performance bottlenecks and issues in hardware or simulation

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must have Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of experience in performance modeling, analysis and optimization
• Good knowledge and understanding of CPU and SoC architecture
• Root causing performance issues and ability to debug esoteric symptoms
• Good understanding of digital hardware and design concepts
• Strong OOP expertise in C++, Python or similar programming language
• Go-getter attitude and capable of pursuing tough engineering challenges to final solutions
• Experience developing specifications working with cross functional engineers
