Tesla is seeking a talented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team at our Fremont, CA location. This role will directly support Tesla’s General Litigation Team. The ideal candidate will have technical acumen and experience with various types of litigation including pre-litigation, individual and class action complaints, insurance, securities, advertising, trade secret, and regulatory actions. This role is expected to develop business relationships with both the legal team and internal business leaders and stakeholders. The position will report directly to the Staff Paralegal, Litigation.

  • Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation, both administrative and substantive.
  • Assist and drive the factual development and analysis of cases, including coordination with the relevant business teams, gathering, reviewing, and analyzing documents.
  • Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, and responding to third party subpoenas.
  • Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, errata, and engagement and response letters.
  • Prepare court documents for filing.
  • Maintain a litigation calendar and monitor case dockets.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience handing litigation matters, experience running state/federal trials a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
  • In-house and/or top-tier law firm experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, flexibly, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding and comfort with litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitrations, and trials. eDiscovery and Appellate experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, technology, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a goal-oriented focus.
