Mechanical Quality Inspection Engineer
A motivated Mechanical Commissioning Agent who is experienced in commissioning and startup of heavy industrial manufacturing facilities to join the Fremont Plant Field Engineering team. This individual will be supporting projects related to plant utilities as the field agent, representing Plant Operations team during construction and commissioning stages of the projects, by performing audits of installation quality, code and standard compliance, pre-commissioning and commissioning support.
Requirements:
The qualified candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relative experience in construction, commissioning, or operations
  • Deep understanding and working knowledge of local and national technical and safety standards and codes
  • Capable of performing installation quality review and support startup
  • Good understanding and hands-on knowledge of fixed and rotary equipment, HVAC, Compressed Air, Natural Gas, Process Chilled Water, Cooling Towers, Pumps
  • Capable of reading and understanding P&ID documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, and ability to communicate effective and clear, and interface at executive level
  • Capability to work efficiently with engineers and technicians from other disciplines, as well as vendors and contractors
  • Good understanding of mechanical equipment testing procedures
  • Working knowledge of Commissioning tools such as Cx Alloy is a plus
  • Familiarity with major vendors in the industry is a plus
  • Experience with wide variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (level, temperature and pressure transducers, current and power meters, etc) is a plus

Responsibilities:
The candidate’s contribution will be focused on the following areas:
  • As the commissioning agent in the field supporting construction team and ensure the quality of install, accuracy and completeness
  • Working very closely with construction team, perform daily job walks, and ensure the accuracy of as-built documentation and redlines
  • Work closely with contractors during construction process and ensure overall completeness of the installations, and complete handover to Plant Ops
  • Support addressing any open issues and punch-list items
  • Creating and embracing the culture of safety, quality, accuracy, and reliability
  • Supporting design and operations team in specifications and standards review and modifications, by providing feedback and lessons learned from the projects
