The Role
The Projects Team continuously defines, implements, manages and monitors improvements and innovative Projects within the Factory. The clear target is to be more sustainable, innovative and cost efficient than the day before.

Responsibilities:

  • Automation and standardization for creating HVAC, Water Purification, and Waste Water Treatment processes and operator interfaces for operating facilities systems safely
  • Create and improve online operator safety documentation to provide additional guidance and system information to the operators, available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
  • Comprehension of logic diagrams in the International Automation format for complex logic devices such as Programmable Logical Controller and Distributed Control System
  • Identify, develop and design control panels, improvements and upgrades to control systems for enhanced system functionality and reliability
  • Work with engineering system owners, as clients, to improve control of their systems or solve control issues
  • Identify instrumentation deficiencies and suggest alternatives
  • Drive root cause analysis on process or asset failures.
  • Identification of necessary technical, digital and construction related projects.
  • Gap identification, set up and successful completion of the projects.
  • Planning of the forecast and costs of the possible projects.
  • Capacity Planning: Capacity requirements for all projects.
  • Establish, implement and maintain both an innovation as well as continuous improvement process.
  • Independent decision making on planning details, control of the implementation and ensuring the transfer of information within the team.
  • Preparation of calculations and internal controlling of the overall measures.
  • Monitoring, securing and expanding the high quality of results and performance.
  • Be the interface to several process owners in different organizational units.
  • Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems.
  • Assist multi discipline engineering team in creating meaningful alarms and then supporting continuous alarm rationalization to ensure alarming is effective


Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or several years working at an industrial manufacturing facility (semiconductor/battery manufacturing preferred) and related instrumentation / automation certifications.
  • Experience in managing innovating projects with digital, sustainable and quality focus.
  • Software knowledge: PLC programming in the IEC 61131-3 standards. Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell RS Studio, Ignition HMI is a plus.
  • Experience in design, operation, and maintenance of industrial control systems
  • Relevant professional experience in a project oriented environment, preferably gained in a technical (automotive) company
  • Reliable Knowledge of continuous improvement projects, project management and quality management (e.g. Six Sigma).
  • Reliable experience in digital solutions, IoT and Industrie 4.0.
  • Reliable knowledge of different disciplines such as mechanical, industrial, automotive, textile and similar disciplines is preferable.
  • Working knowledge of: Microsoft Tools, Quality Management Tools, documentation systems (e.g. confluence) and task planning systems (e.g. JIRA).
  • Proficient in German or English is mandatory. Further Languages are of advantage.
