The Role:
The Facilities Operations Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling resources to conduct maintenance activities, which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity.
In order to fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, the Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with Tesla’s policies and procedures, managing work priority, developing job plans, defining parts and material, determining crafts and skills and engaging the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control plan. In addition, the Planner provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance for improving Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Main point of contact for Facilities Operations planning and trouble response
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair activities on a variety of Facilities equipment and systems
  • Develop and maintain maintenance and calibration schedules for all facilities equipment used in the manufacturing facility
  • Provide periodic reports on maintenance and repair activities
  • Improve equipment uptime thru breakdown review and analysis
  • Review current equipment PMs for validity, accuracy and clarity and modify as needed
  • Add and modify PMs for new and existing equipment based on supplier recommendations and maintenance team feedback
  • Manage Facilities Work Order system and follow up with personnel to ensure that work orders are completed and turned in with in a timely fashion
  • Maintain supplies and spare parts inventory and identify and order needed parts, maintain tracking system
  • Communicate with contractor resources to monitor the performance expectations of the work order
  • Set up new equipment spare parts based on vendor recommendations and maintenance team feedback
  • Establish and maintain equipment parts catalog, equipment history, min/max inventory levels
  • Work with maintenance personnel to assemble required parts to perform overhauls, repairs and work order tasks
  • Maintain technical library (blueprints, technical documents, service manuals, etc.)
  • Assist with developing and delivering training in subject matter expertise
  • Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, and safety procedures.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience with Facilities systems and equipment
  • 2 years as a planner desired
  • Bachelors or Associate degree is a plus but not required
  • Ability to create KPI Dashboards and Charts
  • PM development and implementation
  • Equipment spare parts management
  • Training & development
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, Advanced Excel preferred
  • Proficient in using a CMMS database
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to read schematics, blueprints, machine, and process drawings
  • Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes
  • Self-directed – able to work towards specific goals and objectives with limited oversight
  • Open minded, highly flexible, positive attitude
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
