Tesla is seeking for a Collision Technical Trainer to join the Body Repair Program within the Learning and Development team. This position will involve supporting the Body Repair Program in all aspects of its internal and approved body shop programs. This position is located in Fremont, CA. Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging Body Repair Program instructor-led training on aluminum and steel welding, aluminum and steel structural repair, and paint-less dent repair
  • Train and develop Body Repair Program technicians on inspection, repair, and service of Tesla vehicles
  • Knowledge of: methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
  • Ensure that programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Tesla’s objectives
  • Assist with the operations at all training centers that include: inventory, vehicles, room setup, service center contacts, phone calls, scheduling, tool and equipment maintenance, and student data tracking
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines
  • Comply with all Tesla safety rules, guidelines, and standards
  • Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
  • Must be able to work independently in limited supervision environments

  • Understands and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations

Requirements:

  • Industry recognized trainer to Body Master Technician level – minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Advanced aluminum and steel joining experience – welding, riveting, and bonding
  • Proven ability in structuring demonstrations and instruction sessions
  • Adult learning or training and assessment certificate or equivalent
  • Proficient in use of Celette, Car-Bench, and Car-O-Liner frame equipment
  • High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate from Vocational School in Collision Repair preferred.
  • Capable of driving a fork lift
  • Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance as a Body Repair Program Trainer
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience and insurable
  • Business travel as required
  • Valid passport
  • Health & safety qualification
  • First aid qualification
  • Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Capable of driving a fork lift
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
