We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Freemium User Growth Strategy team for our Spotify Premium and Free audio streaming service. The Senior Manager will focus on analysis and research to advise our growth strategy - helping settle how we invest to grow our subscribers and monthly active users over the medium to long term around the world.

This is a new high-impact role on a lean team that will help set the strategy on how we grow the world’s leading global freemium audio streaming business.
In this role, you will work with a diverse set of teams across the Freemium business unit (operating teams, insights teams, and analytics teams), as well as with teams within other Spotify business units such as Content, R&D, and Finance. The role is based in our New York office and will be reporting to the Director of Freemium Growth Strategy.
What you'll do
You will execute on strategic analyses and projects, to help identify and evaluate growth opportunities
- You will partner with our Analytics team to conduct detailed analyses on our users on platform to identify meaningful insights that craft our strategy
You will partner with our Consumer Insights team to perform qualitative and quantitative research within our key markets globally to refine our understanding of the addressable market and how to win them
You will help identify and analyze established and emerging companies with compelling business models / growth frameworks which could advise our own user growth strategy
You will keep on top of key entertainment and technology industry news and trends and act as a highly informed strategic sounding board for the Director of Freemium Growth Strategy as well as for the Freemium leadership team
You will work out of our New York City office
Who you are
You are highly passionate about the future of technology, entertainment and digital media, you have an informed point of view on where the industry is headed, and you want to play a role in crafting that future at one of the few globally scaled pure-play digital media and technology companies
You are both collaborative and an intensely curious self-starter with a proven track record to keep projects moving and deliver phenomenal results on time without the need for too much oversight
You are comfortable with the level of ambiguity that comes with being at a high growth company
- Your past work experiences have provided you with:
Proven quantitative skills to efficiently analyze and evaluate ideas (as a bare minimum you are an Excel master) Bonus points if you are a SQL master
Strong qualitative skills to ask the right questions and to frame your analysis
Strong communication skills to navigate a rapidly growing global organization and to communicate key takeaways (and their impact on growth) elegantly and succinctly
Outstanding attention to detail
- You have at least a Bachelor’s degree from a leading university, ideally in a quantitative area (economics, finance, statistics, marketing, business, etc.). You might also have an MBA (but not mandatory).
You have 4-6 years of work experience which could include relevant strategy or growth experience at a well known successful technology or digital media company (perhaps in digital video, gaming, SaaS, etc.) and/or time at a credible investment bank / equity research firm or management consulting firm.
