Excellent, then we would love for you to be our new Senior Engineering Manager!
As a Senior Engineering Manager your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers and leaders, doing valuable work towards a meaningful mission, and generally having a great time at Spotify. You are expected to grow and influence a positive and inclusive culture, facilitate the growth of a healthy tech stack, and work with your teams and other leaders in the organization on strategy and execution. You will manage several Engineering Managers and will be accountable for the performance, technical direction and results of multiple related teams.
What you’ll do
  • Grow and manage skilled and passionate Engineers and Engineering Managers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  • Work tightly with your peer product and engineering leaders to set the technical direction, build and communicate strategy, and improve ways of working as a team
  • Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Create a safe and inclusive working atmosphere and grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values
  • Be an active part of the tribe leadership team and collaborate to evolve its practices and grow an amazing organisation

Who you are
  • You love developing and growing people and have a track record of doing it
  • You know how to lead by fostering a culture in an agile environment, and you are able to support and grow this culture in teams
  • You know how to set a technical strategy for an organization and drive the technical transformation needed across teams
  • You have experience with developing leadership, supporting managers, and growing the whole team across multiple levels
  • You have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring software developers & leaders towards delivering timely, high-quality software together with them
  • You care about creating a great engineering culture with a growth mindset
  • You enjoy working in an agile development environment

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the EMEA region in which we have a work location and is within working hours
  • Working hours? We operate within the Central European and GMT time zones for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone
