We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong data/infra background in our Stockholm HQ. You will be part of a small but growing team of data scientists and analytics engineers. Our team drives the development of datasets and forecasting models to support the understanding of the Spotify Premium business. You will work on crafting robust and scalable solutions for analysis friendly datasets, collaborating with data producers and consumers across the company. You will also support the evolving design of the team’s forecasting system. This is a highly impactful role where you will take the lead in driving the direction of the technical architecture and roadmap of the team, which currently uses a combination of BigQuery, Scio (a Scala API for Apache Beam) and Python running on Google Cloud Platform.
What you'll do
Be part of a team that owns and operates data pipelines generating a number of core datasets for analysing and modelling the Premium business of Spotify
Own the work on evolving and improving the overall technical architecture of the team’s systems, including the in-house forecasting framework
Drive efforts to develop new data sets for the organisation. Working closely with data scientists to establish appropriate data representations and communicating with data producing teams to guide integration
Mentor and develop team members. Help craft and promote sound engineering practices, like continuous delivery and automated testing within the team
Who you are
At least 5 years of work experience with a focus on data and/or analytics engineering, preferably with exposure to Scala, Java or Python
Worked in a team with both Data Engineers and Data Scientists
Experience with one or more higher-level data processing frameworks such as Apache Beam or Apache Spark
Proficient in SQL based databases, ideally with familiarity of cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery
