As a backend engineer in the Freemium Business Unit, you will have the opportunity to have a significant impact on Spotify’s growth by reaching new users, markets and audiences. We achieve this by truly understanding the needs of our users, and by innovating to solve real problems for them, building solutions across the entire Spotify infrastructure to support our goal.
Our focus is to remove access barriers that hinders users from accessing Spotify, such as making Spotify available in their market, language, on their current mobile device, network and data plan.
The engineering team is not only responsible for building world-class technical solutions but is also deeply involved in the conceptualisation part of the process. They work closely with user researchers, data scientists and designers to build hypotheses around opportunities related to specific cultures, regions or markets. These hypotheses are tested and validated by building A/B tests and prototypes before shipped to all of our end users.
