Today, we are seeking an outstanding Head of Consumer Marketing for Middle East and North Africa (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, United Arab Emirates etc.) to fill a 7 to 12 month maternity leave role.

Short Term In this role, you will be involved in communicating with and growing the consumer base in MENA. People have a unique emotional connection to music and it is your mission to make sure regional consumers develop such a connection through Spotify. The Head of Consumer Marketing will be readily available to work from both our new Dubai office and from home, in close collaboration with cross-functional leadership teams such as Artist & Label, Editorial, Global Marketing, Brand Partnerships, Premium Marketing, Content Marketing, Product, Business Development, PR, and Agency management to acquire, activate and retain Spotify consumers in the key MENA markets mentioned above. This individual will work in a virtual, fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment where creativity, playfulness, collaboration and critical thinking are crucial to this success.
What you'll do
  • Develop & execute Spotify's consumer-centric 2022 marketing strategy
  • Provide strong leadership and support the team by mentoring and providing clarity on the vision for growth and the business
  • Consistently champion the Spotify brand values, people values, and Social Impact initiatives, acting as a role model both within the team and externally
  • Deliver focused, attributable, large scale coordinated marketing programs to accelerate acquisition of addressable market share in all key markets
  • Provide counsel to the leadership team and cross-functional partners (media and societal trends, growth opportunities, competitive landscape)
  • Drive x- functional alignment, understanding and adoption of target audiences across all functions and key markets and partners
  • Understand key market audiences, drive consumer demand and deliver focused x-functional efforts with music and premium marketing teams.
  • Identify untapped growth target audiences, informed by first and third party data; deliver outstanding content and marketing solutions through direct and partner channels
  • Partner with PR & Business Development (Partnerships) and Brand Partnerships to drive cultural relevance and user engagement
  • Handle the marketing budget to ensure marketing programs executed are return-on-investment optimized
  • Collaborate with Spotify’s in-house creative agency to develop best in-class localised brand marketing campaigns - as such, a strong background handling all agencies and creative partners is required. This includes social, media and creative
  • Develop consumer marketing strategies to establish the Spotify brand; driving awareness, growth and dedication through traditional media, digital, social, partnerships, creators and owned channels
  • Use existing relationships with global and local partners to extend speed to market, reach and ongoing consumer engagement for Spotify
  • Work closely with Content Teams to drive the music and podcast industry agenda and ensure content priorities are aligned to our core audiences’ needs

Who you are
  • A strong leader with the ability to build and lead diverse teams remotely
  • A minimum of 15 years'proven experience in brand, consumer, digital media, social media, e-commerce or entertainment marketing, including with an international brand covering the MENA region
  • Proven ability of converting high-level business and marketing strategy into tangible, effective local marketing executions across all channels
  • Data and return-on-investment driven, adept at analysing and interpreting data and using it set and track critical metrics
  • Excellent negotiating, presentation and people leadership skills
  • End-to-end experience of the marketing process from initial briefing all the way to execution
  • Highly customer focused and data literate. Able to interrogate market, consumer and customer data and present recommendations on market and consumer
  • Passionate about the industry
  • Comfortable working up and down a large organization, including at senior levels
  • Portfolio of strong consumer marketing campaigns resulting in customer acquisition and business partnerships, including across traditional and digital/social platforms.
  • Track record of strong leadership and a collaborative approach
  • Experience with leading teams and external agency relationships
  • A high level of written and spoken English. Arabic and French language skills are a plus
  • Deep understanding of the MENA markets and having worked in the region for some time.
  • Able to start by or before August 2021
