We are looking for a highly talented Head of Business Operations & Planning, focused on business planning and cross-functional strategic initiatives to join our Music team! In this role, you will have a direct impact on setting the strategy, objectives and goals of Music on a global basis and be involved in cross-team, high impact projects. In this position, you will work closely with Music Leads and report to the Director of Business Operations & Planning and manage a team of two people, focused on planning, operations and fraud. What you'll do:
  • Business Planning
  • Working with the Co-heads of Music and Music Leads to formulate overall Music strategy, business goals and targets (OKRs) in line with Spotify’s overall strategy
  • Monitor progress of OKRs and perform quarterly assessments with OKR Owners; changing and adapting as necessary
  • Work with Leads on setting goals for their teams to ensure accountability
  • Providing the team with the insights and knowledge needed to drive decisions and define strategy for the region

  • Business Reviews and Reporting
  • Own and drive the process for business reviews, establishing the cadence and standardizing the framework and output of market analysis and business reviews
  • Work with other BUs such as Content to provide Music input and expertise in QBRs, Earnings Reports and other corporate reporting
  • Monitor and gather insight on competitor activities

  • Project Management
  • Identify and project manage cross-functional projects that have an impact on the business and processes
  • Build strong relationships across Music and other Business Units in order to effectively lead teams towards common goals

Who you are:
  • 8+ years experience working at a tech company, management consultancy, or similar
  • Experience in defining strategy, working with teams to formulate objectives, tracking progress and measuring success
  • You have significant experience working in high growth and dynamic organizations with shown ability to make things happen
  • An organized, strategic problem solver with an understanding of strategy, planning, reporting and budgeting
  • You have strong project management skills
  • You are perceptive and look for opportunities to improve how teams work together, with experience identifying cross-functional business opportunities and developing cross-functional working models in highly complex environments
  • Ability to learn new concepts, technologies and businesses quickly and to produce quality work in short time-frames
