By thinking differently and utilizing content, marketing, and branding in new ways, our team creates unique on-platform experiences that engage users and attract new audiences to Spotify. Our work is guided by experimentation, where the engineering team is not only responsible for building technical solutions but is also deeply involved in the ideation part of the process. We work together with product management, user researchers, data scientists and designers to build and test hypotheses around new opportunities for growth.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of our cross-discipline teams of iOS-, Android-, and backend engineers. You will play a meaningful role in growing and developing the engineers into a healthy and high-performing team, continuously improving our engineering practices, and delivering state of the art technology while keeping it fun. As a result, you will have a direct and measurable impact on the future growth of Spotify!

What you'll do
  • You will be working closely with product, insights and design to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and execution
  • You will help to cultivate agile methodologies and foster a culture of sustainable tech health
  • You will ensure the team has a sound technology strategy
  • You will build and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  • You will grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the our values

Who you are
  • You’re passionate about software engineering practices and love to have an impact on large-scale tech problems
  • You are experienced with leading, coaching, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • You have previous experience delivering products in an agile development environment at scale
  • You have a quality mindset, delivering high quality products and supporting others to maintain a high standard
  • You are comfortable working collaboratively on a cross-discipline team. Working project-based, and also driving delivery on small to medium-sized initiatives
  • You have a growth mindset, you embrace challenges and celebrate wins as well as failures
