We are looking for a creative, passionate, and experienced Director of Product to join the Marketplace team – Spotify’s division that is dedicated to helping artists thrive. Marketplace’s mission is to build tools that help artists and their teams build an audience, monetize their fans, and live off their work. As the Director of Product for Marketplace Core, you will lead Product Management and Product Strategy for this Core platform, taking responsibility for developing end-to-end product vision, strategy and roadmaps for the platform in collaboration with cross-functional partners across our business units. Building and leading a team of highly-talented Product Managers, you will have a direct impact on the future of creativity, through building the foundational platforms that the supply-side of Spotify relies on.
What you'll do
Drive the product vision and strategy with innovative product managers, engineers, designers and insights teams to deliver outstanding products to internal customers and end users
Build and manage a team consisting of Sr. Product Managers and Product Managers who in turn lead the product development of their respective full stack teams
Make Marketplace Core a great platform partner to other Spotify teams and business units and enable our platform to scale
Define, communicate and debate strategy with senior executives across Spotify
Who you are
You're a seasoned leader with experience managing leaders and multiple teams. You can grow, inspire and encourage a team of product managers
You understand deeply what it means to build platform products as opposed to consumer products, and how to build products that enable other teams to move with speed to solve their own needs
You understand the importance of the developer experience to improve impact, distribution and success for those building on top of your product.
You’re experienced with cross-functional leadership and are a consummate collaborator across multiple domains
- You can clearly define success metrics the organizational level, and articulate how teams and projects are contributing to them
You have a deep understanding and articulation of industry movements, threats and opportunities
You possess a strong business sense and use those instincts to help inform strategic business decisions
You are able to motivate senior leadership and partners around insights and strategies developed
You have a strong bias for execution and ensure that all teams are consistently shipping product and delivering customer value
- You've got a strong intuition based on a broad range of experiences, but you take a critical approach to your own ideas and are ready to be challenged by colleagues of all levels
You are motivated by a burning desire for excellence but take a pragmatic approach to achieve your goals
