Associate Director - Global & North America Media Strategy (Remote Eligible - Americas)

Spotify is looking for a Media professional to join our Global Media Team. The Associate Director, Global + North America Media Strategy will be responsible for working with Global and North America consumer and content marketing teams to develop effective and efficient media strategies that build demand and drive growth for Spotify. This role will supervise brand media strategies and execution across Global & North America campaigns. The right person for this role is a collaborative leader with broad expertise across all media channels. This position will report into the Head of Global Media. What you'll do
  • Support and guide Global Brand + North American media teams in developing global media campaign strategies as well as plan execution for NA plans
  • Own North America regional annual planning, innovation, measurement, and partnerships with cross-functional marketing teams; responsible for finding media commonalities and areas of opportunity
  • Work with media AOR to develop and steward sophisticated, multi-channel media strategies; consistently elevating and improving the work
  • Infuse innovation into all campaigns, prioritizing buzz-worthy initiatives
  • Interpret and make recommendations based on campaign performance data to optimize, measure success, and identify findings for future programs.
  • Champion media measurement and ensure all plans are appropriately instrumented
  • Build and implement test and learn media plans and scale campaigns based on evidence of success
  • Lead and support team of four with day-to-day responsibilities and career development
  • Partner with creative teams to build media ideas
  • Build and disseminate media best practices to regional teams
  • Develop annual planning parameters and guidelines for North America initiatives
  • Collaborate with Global Investment and Partnership Manager to identify potential NA media partners for consideration in annual upfront deals

Who you are
  • 10+ years working in Strategic Media Planning role at a media agency or on the client side with proven track record for developing media plans for leading global brands
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing, advertising, and media planning principles with an experienced knowledge of both traditional and digital brand media channels
  • Experience in managing relationships with internal & external suppliers and partners
  • Proven ability for delivering strategic solutions AND tactical media plans.
  • Strong understanding of media math, optimization tactics and tools.
  • Ability to multi-task projects and partners with equal priority with speed in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience using analytics and measurement to inform decisions for organizations;
  • Constantly stays abreast of industry trends, new technologies, social media development and first to market advertising opportunities
  • International experience, understanding of cultural diversity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Passion for marketing, music, podcasts, & all things Spotify
