Role
The Head of Learning and Leadership will design and drive the Splunker and Splunk Leader learning experiences from strategy through execution. You will accelerate our shift to virtual and continuous learning and will lead the reimagination of learning of the future at Splunk. You will have an impact on how every Splunker grows from the day they are onboard, and how every leader leads. This high-visibility, high-value work will have a clear and lasting impact on Splunk’s culture and business success.
You will partner with functional learning and enablement (e.g. Sales Engineering) and employee experience teams to ensure a coherent experience for Splunkers. Collaborating with these teams, you’ll leverage the current learning infrastructure and co-design how we evolve our learning architecture to propel the organization’s capabilities to support the Splunk’s need for rapid scaling.
Responsibilities
  • Own the strategy, design, development, delivery, and iteration of learning experiences for all Splunkers at all levels - creating an impactful suite of ongoing learning experiences using relevant research and variety of mediums to drive learning goals and promote our social impact and justice values
  • Lead the redefinition of a “Splunk Leader” and create the learning experiences that will enable our leaders to develop their team members and build high-impact teams in alignment with Splunk’s business strategy
  • Hire, lead and develop a team of ~5 learning curators, design and delivery specialists and oversee an operational budget to support effective use of outside vendors and resources (e.g., LinkedIn Learning)
  • Experiment and innovate - identifying innovative approaches to learning, methods, and tools to ensure that we are keeping data and clients at the core, leading the industry and are making measurable business impact
  • Collaborate with business and People leadership to assess needs, identify gaps and prioritize resulting learning experiences
  • Partner with the Program Management team to ensure programs go to market as thoughtful, integrated solutions at scale
  • Coordinate and ensure effectiveness of learning technologies with Splunk People Operations Team (SPOT)
  • Develop partnerships with outside vendors and internal functional learning organizations
Requirements
You are:
  • Client-centric, agile and passionate about helping people learn and grow, at all levels
  • Data-centric and focus on relevant research to design and deliver impactful learning experiences
  • Deft at balancing being hands on in building products and measuring impact while leading and developing teams to do the same
  • A leader who thrives in ambiguity and building effective solutions that scale and work through in person and remote environments
  • A simple, clear and consistent communicator with strong leadership and product vision and management capabilities
You have:
  • 10+ years of experience in leading learning and/or leadership development
  • Deep knowledge of how people learn/change behaviors and how to deliver large-scale programs and interventions
  • Proven expertise in using data to inform decisions on effectiveness of development experiences - and an understanding of what creates both learning and behavior change resulting in measurable improvement
  • Experience using technology to curate and deliver high-impact learning
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across organizations
  • Experience using with vendors, and have established existing relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, MBA or comparable business experience preferred.
