Analyst, Sales Planning & Analysis

Retail Sales planning at Sephora plays a key role, driving business strategy through field insights and data driven analysis. Leveraging our robust database of KPI’s, sales, marketing and events we are consistently improving the way we view the business. Our team of analysts are all data savvy individuals that share a common goal to answer Sephora’s toughest questions weaving together quantitative and qualitative information into a holistic story.

Your role at Sephora:

This Analyst will be part of the sales analytics team and will assist with annual budgeting process, variance analysis and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to key stakeholders for Retail Stores including sales analysis, market trends, pre and post cannibalization impact and other projects requested by management. This function acts as the analytical point of contact to provide insights and support sales budget decision making at the store level.
In addition, you will:
  • Provide sales analysis of variances to plan and forecast, providing insight on current and expected trends, and identifying areas of risk and opportunities
  • Build strong partnerships with Districts Managers to assist in the budgeting process
  • Assist with developing and updating sales models with focus on financial analytics to understand and explain trends and variances
  • Manage new store count, open dates and sales budgets
  • Update Monthly Labor Planning software (Dayforce) with monthly sales budgets to aid in Labor planning
  • Track and report cannibalization of sales from new stores/competitors to aid in budgeting
  • Prepare daily and monthly management reports to be utilized in management meetings
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and scenario modeling to aid in decision-making
  • Manage field objectives on an annual and quarterly basis.
