YOUR FUTURE ROLE
You are working in the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team within the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) department of SAP. This department is directly assigned to the CFO of SAP and is responsible for the completeness and correctness of SAP’s accounting and external financial reporting (Integrated Report etc.) under German and International law.
The position is assigned to the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team which is the owner of the SAP Group Accounting Guideline and the SAP group chart of accounts.
The team evaluates, decides on and oversees IFRS accounting topics for the SAP group; in addition, the team monitors the closing and external reporting cycles and executes end to end accounting processes within its Centers of Expertise.
This role has a focus on IFRS accounting and reporting topics (end-to-end responsibility) such IFRS 2 (Share-based Compensation), IAS 37 (Provisions) etc. – the tasks also cover answering ad-hoc requests from the respective (internal and external) stakeholders.
The team serves as the first point of contact for entities acquired by SAP and has to provide ongoing (accounting and project) support after the acquisition.
Thorough / detailed understanding of IFRS accounting rules
University degree with special topics in finance, preferably accounting and/or auditing
Fluent German language skills and very good English skills
Good organization and communication skills; assertive; ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Interest in keeping up to date technically on aspects of accounting and ideally IFRS accounting
Understanding of US-GAAP accounting rules preferred
Knowledge of accounting-related functionalities in SAP ERP preferred is beneficial
Preferably 5+ years of working experience in the area of accounting and reporting under IFRS or in the assurance area of an audit firm
Preferably successful PHD studies in the area of accounting/auditing
