What you’ll be doing…
T he Senior Manager Product Marketing is responsible for defining and communicating the core value of Tableau. As a key member of the product marketing team, you will own defining and communicating the overall value proposition of Tableau products for your functional area within the portfolio. This includes working with development to understand the roadmap and product experience, and creating the right messaging and content that can be leveraged by marketing and sales to tell the Tableau story.
Who you are...
Act as the GM to manage the overall positioning and GTM for your specific product area.
Create product materials ranging from demos to web copy to presentations to whitepapers, and more to deliver that message to market.
Coordinate with the larger marketing team to position the platform and extend its reach.
Work with product management and development to understand and communicate the company’s vision, and help shape the evolution of the product and provide key feedback.
Be the subject matter expert for the overall Tableau, and manage the broader team to ensure that the greater marketing understands the space, audience profiles, positioning and messaging, and how Tableau stands out within this space.
Be a thought leader and act as a spokesperson for Tableau at events and with press and analysts.
Present to audiences at live meetings, webinars and at a variety of Tableau events and tradeshows.
Support the Tableau Sales team with demos, presentations and product knowledge.
7+ years of experience in product marketing or product management.
Strong strategic marketing skill set, able to hone in on the core value proposition and customer benefit of the product.
Ability to work with engineering and think about the customer experience, and translate that into a go to market strategy.
Experience leading a team, from communicating a clear strategy and driving concrete deliverables, to motivating and supporting a team with different focus areas.
Familiarity with data, BI or adjacent space preferred, B2B content experience is a must.
Excellent at driving cross functional alignment, from working with engineering, to sales and marketing.
Excellent writing ability, including the ability to communicate technical concepts.
Enthusiasm for a fast-growing, fast-changing environment.
The ability to own projects from start to finish.
Strong entrepreneurial drive.
Understanding of basic analytical and statistical techniques.
Tableau product knowledge or the ability to learn it quickly.
Strong presentation skills.
