Marketers on PepsiCo’s eCommerce team are entrepreneurial leaders navigating the online landscape and developing new capabilities and experiences from scratch to impact path to purchase. On the PepsiCo eCommerce team, you’ll experiment with different tactics to transform traditional brands for the digital era, owning and executing omnichannel marketing plans for a full portfolio of snacks and beverages. With a team of more than 300 associates and offices in Manhattan, Chicago, Plano, and Silicon Valley, PepsiCo has been laser focused on meeting consumer needs and winning in the marketplace. Investing in eCommerce, digital capabilities and talent has been a huge part of that effort, with $3 billion in retail sales projected for the rest of this year.
We’re seeking a Digital Marketing Head to be a key catalyst for continued omnichannel growth at Walmart. Cross-functional collaboration with Shopper Marketing, Sales and Strategy teams is paramount to be successful along with being a thought-leader for PepsiCo’s largest customer.
In this role you will have several distinct responsibilities and priorities:
What a PepsiCo Digital Marketing Head does:

  • Lead the development of digital marketing strategies and plans to drive our omnichannel Walmart business, meet sales objectives and build a mutually beneficial partnership with Walmart & Sam’s Club.

  • Oversee a team responsible for the day-to-day execution and measurement of all digital marketing activities. Empower teams to take ownership and drive change within the Walmart PCT.

  • Negotiate annual JBPs with Walmart Connect & Sam’s Media Group.

  • Play a critical role in defining, socializing and implementing PepsiCo’s approach to Retailer Media Networks.

  • Serve as a thought leader for Walmart PCT and encourage new ways of thinking.

  • Collaborate with Shopper Marketing to develop omnichannel marketing plans that benefit the total business. Provide digital thought leadership and identify opportunities to demonstrate the value our eComm team provides.

  • Partner closely with Sales teams to identify key businesses and challenges and develop commercially minded digital strategies that deliver business results.

  • Instill a performance marketing mindset within the Walmart PCT by setting clear KPIs and reporting on performance to effectively measure marketing impact.

  • Develop strong relationships with key customer contacts. Identify ways to provide value and thought leadership that may help unlock new opportunities for PepsiCo; heavy emphasis on Retailer Media Networks, new marketing capabilities and data/tech integrations

  • Influence the customers’ digital product roadmaps and measurement capabilities to deliver competitive advantage for PepsiCo.

  • Manage overall A&M budget by Business Unit and marketing tactic and partner with eCommerce Business Unit leads to support interactions with brand teams, including funding, aligning eComm marketing plans with brand priorities, working through execution and communicating results back to brand teams.

  • Create an environment that enables cross-pollination of ideas, socialization of learnings and development of templates for consistency and efficiency.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Marketing expertise—minimum of 10 years of experience leading the development and execution of digital marketing programs and media plans

  • In-depth working knowledge and hands on experience with media across digital channels (display, search, email, social, mobile)

  • Performance marketing & omnichannel mindset—understands how to leverage marketing tactics to target shoppers throughout the funnel to drive conversion

  • Understanding of data and strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to own and drive improvement of marketing and business KPIs, particularly in a complex, multi-stakeholder and fluid environment

  • Technical understanding with ability to work with product, engineering and data teams to advocate for and shepherd new industry-leading capabilities

  • Strong leader with a track record of identifying, attracting and developing highly motivated and successful talent

  • Problem-solving capabilities with ability to find feasible solutions to complex problems, especially in an environment with incomplete information and tight timelines

  • Ability to manage / drive agenda and thinking with functional reports in a matrixed and virtual environment

  • Strong ability to influence and work with others to effectively navigate matrixed organization while ensuring that necessary stakeholders are informed

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to educate and influence cross-functional teams, key stakeholders and external partners regarding the opportunity in this unique channel

  • High level of intellectual curiosity and interest in technology trends and advancements
