Job Description:
Opportunity: Offensive Risk Assurance – Testing, Mapping, and Reporting
This role will include cross functional efforts with both the Bug bounty and Penetration Testing teams. The candidate will develop a Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) mapping system and dashboard for penetration testing findings. By leveraging the categories of CWE, we will showcase how CWEs are exposed and their exploitability due to gaps in our posture. This will allow for correlation of data from all discovery sources such as Bug Bounty, Penetration testing, Control Testing, etc. The role will also include developing a process for the Bug Bounty team to test Risk and Fraud flows. This should provide perspective from external hackers on how they view and potentially exploit our current Risk/Fraud controls. Project tasks include working across the organization to determine stake holder requirements, inventory, and understand PayPal reporting frameworks. This would also include scoping the Bug Bounty campaigns, communication and promotion with our selected researchers, and dash-boarding the data in Splunk to provide insight on the results of the testing.

What we are looking for:

  • Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Engineering, Risk Management, and/or Program Management, or related degree.

  • Completed coursework or experience should include information security, governance. computer science fundamentals, software development, programming languages, metrics and reporting, and Project management.

  • Must have knowledge of concepts related to Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE), Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), online Risk methods and Fraud

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to manage their own project.

  • Strong analytical skills along with necessary communication skills necessary to document the processes and actions taken to complete each assignment.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment and an interest in deepening knowledge of information security principles.

  • Demonstrated abilities to comprehend, discuss and apply concepts and theories within both overall Information Technology and Information Security fields.
