Job Description Summary: As part of PayPal’s Corporate Affairs organization, the Product & Partnership Communications team is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications programs that showcase the company’s ability to help businesses join and succeed in the digital and global economy. This role will report to the Senior Director of Global Communications (Omni Payments), and will partner with the rest of the team (and broader Corporate Affairs function) to advance and amplify PayPal’s work with partners and businesses of all sizes supporting PayPal’s industry analyst relations activities.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will leverage strong writing and project management skills, with expertise in developing and executing industry analyst relations programs to highlight PayPal’s position as a key partner for business and marketplaces across industries. This person will have strong communications and industry analyst relation skills and work collaboratively across the broader Communications team and our stakeholders including Consumer Communications, Corporate Financial Communications, Leadership Communications, Reputation and Risk, Product Marketing, Marketing, and others. Must be based in Austin, Chicago or Boston.
Responsibilities to Include:
  • Work with the broader Communications, Corporate Affairs organization and other PayPal stakeholders to create, develop and execute strategic industry analyst relation plans.
  • Maintain existing relationships with top-tier industry analyst firms (IDC, Gartner, Forrester), build the program beyond those existing firms and expand the capabilities globally.
  • Lead in the collaborate with teams across communications, marketing, product, etc. to identify and support new and existing products as part of this industry analyst program.
  • Lead development of programming across communications and industry analyst relations channels and the broader payments industry to raise the visibility of PayPal with core audiences and decisionmakers.
  • Consistently collaborate across other key Corporate Affairs teams – including but not limited to Corporate Financial Communications and Government Relations – to ensure strategic integration and consistency, as well as to maximize opportunities.
  • Have the ability to lead preparation and support executive leaders for briefings and inquiries.
  • Served as the lead in managing ongoing relationships and budgets with industry analyst firms, but also manage internal stakeholder relationships that want to utilize the outside analyst firms for research, feedback, etc.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of agency or in-house experience; relevant financial sector industry experience is a plus but not a requirement. Industry analyst relations experience also required.
  • Proven track record of leading, developing or assisting a top-tier industry analyst relations program in technology, fintech or financial services is desired.
  • Established industry analyst relationships and desire to expand network.
  • Experience and willingness to engage proactively/reactively with complex stories with industry analysts at top tier firms and their relationship managers.
  • Ability to deliver results in high pressure situations.
  • Must have a track record of developing industry analyst relations plans, messaging and related materials under deadline.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and distill key points clearly, succinctly and quickly to various stakeholders internally/externally.
  • An excellent writer and communicator who is committed to simple, clear and creative ways of communicating.
  • Must be able work independently and without direction as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Ability to think creatively and desire to push past the status quo.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • A passion to further PayPal’s brand and vision of democratizing financial services.
