This is a global role, reporting to the Director of Communications for HR and Employee Experience, and based in Austin or Chicago.
What you will do:
  • Serve as the primary internal communications partner to PayPal’s global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIE&B) team.
  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans that drive awareness and understanding of our commitments to DIE&B, reinforce a culture of belonging for all, connect people to relevant support and resources, and contribute to PayPal’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Evolve and maintain a central DIE&B narrative.
  • Manage a complex calendar of DIE&B communications needs and matrix of internal stakeholders across both HR and the business. This will be done in partnership with the broader communications function to ensure the content and cadence of DIE&B communications aligns with the broader communications activities and rhythms of the company.
  • Partner closely with the DIE&B team to help maintain and evolve enterprise communications channels for employees to access relevant information, support and resources.
  • Leverage communications to support the work of PayPal’s global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that serve as voices and advocates specific to the needs of particular communities within our employee population.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel and support to both HR and DIE&B leaders as they continually evolve and enhance our DIE&B programs and offerings.
  • Ensure that business leaders and people managers companywide are educated and equipped to support their teams with navigating DIE&B programs and offerings.
  • Measure the impact of DIE&B communications in driving overall employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Gather and leverage critical insights and best practices, both internally and externally, to evolve DIE&B communications strategies and improve both creativity and efficiency of content and delivery strategies.

Qualities of the right candidate for this role:
  • A minimum of 12 years of leading internal communications for a globally dispersed workforce. Experience working within the field of DIE&B is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the role and responsibilities of a DIE&B team within a large global company.
  • Passionate and excited about the intersection between DIE&B and comms, and excited to jump in each day to make meaningful contributions to our employees’ experience at PayPal.
  • Love to write and can articulate complex ideas simply, creatively and with heart.
  • Comfortable and effective in serving as a strategic communications partner to senior leaders and DIE&B subject matter experts; able to confidently offer ideas and negotiate communication plans, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to embrace ongoing change, pivot quickly, and effectively deliver against tight deadlines; demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and grace under pressure.
  • Enjoy both strategizing and “rolling up your sleeves” to execute plans.
  • Understand and embrace the idea that DIE&B communications should be creative and inspiring.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Diplomatic, with the ability to identify and manage organizational and cultural sensitivities.
  • A good sense of humor, enjoy collaborating with really bright people, and see work as fun!
