Job Description Summary: As PayPal’s lead consumer content strategist supporting our platform and products, you will establish the foundations of our consumer brand and content that amplifies the PayPal platform story – driving brand preference and demand for our products. You will be responsible for the strategy and execution of PayPal’s branded product comprehension content, within paid social channels, while connecting this content to our performance marketing programs. In this role you will be developing content, social and video/influencer strategies - as well as managing media agency relationships - to support product comprehension and consideration across our core markets, making incremental impact on our brand and product metrics. You will partner across core markets to create compelling and engaging content that inspires, recognizes our company values, and delivers growth to the business. You will bring a data and insights led approach to move hearts and minds while demonstrating PayPal’s unique role in the world. The right person for this role will have a strong background in developing branded content for big brands globally and has demonstrated the power of connecting art and science within a marketing organization. Additionally, you will have a unique passion for problem solving and collaborating within a highly matrixed organization.
Job Description:
Key Areas of Responsibilities
  • Develop breakthrough global paid social marketing campaigns and activations that capture consumer's attention and drive product awareness and consideration, deliver earned media, and connect to performance marketing that is focused on acquisition and increasing product usage.
  • Translates value prop into platform and product specific messaging that can be utilized to rapidly launch content in multiple regions, incorporating country level learnings and nuances.
  • Execute flawlessly by delivering global content and campaigns on time, on budget and with creative excellence, managing multiple external agencies to deliver integrated consumer marketing campaigns that can be scaled across core markets.
  • Develop and manage the execution of our content engine with internal and external media teams at pace leveraging an agile approach.
  • Partner with our product & performance teams to make sure our narrative is cohesive, inspiring, and delivered consistently across every touchpoint.
  • Support marketing ops and agencies in execution of strategic campaigns (creative and media), be the customer champion for the user experiences and channel plans that are set to go to market.
  • Partner with Analytics and Finance to ensure all campaigns are accurately measured and deliver on the business goals, establishing clear KPIs, an agile learning agenda and best practices. Analyze and seek out opportunities for testing.
  • An expert in understanding what works for PayPal consumers and its community, making sure that the content we develop has the greatest impact and resonance.
  • Analysis of cultural, community, media, and market trends to inform strategic and creative development for content.

Experience and Skills (the what)
  • 15+ years of consumer advertising and marketing experience leading paid social/integrated marketing content.
  • Ability to establish a strategic vision and plans aligned to brand and business objectives.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Adept at developing initial strategy and managing through the execution details to bring campaigns to life, from both a creative production and media implementation standpoint.
  • An understanding and passion for recognizing emerging trends, creative excellence, and new technologies.
  • Accomplished and contemporary media planning and communication expert – with proven track record executing in cross functional team environments.
  • Experience and literacy in content analytics, proving the impact of content across the business.
  • Experience collaborating within dynamic and matrixed organizations.
  • Proven strategic experience designing and delivering impactful marketing solutions.
  • An experienced PayPal customer who understands the value it plays in customers lives.
  • Thrive in a self-starter, fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to bring strategy to life – drafting off a media planning and creative production background. Not scared of the detail that brings campaigns to fruition.
  • Proven creative sense and highly influential.
