The World Ready Team is looking for expert Java and JavaScript engineers to help build applications and web services that support Globalization for all PayPal applications. As a member of the team, you will help us develop product solutions and deliver features that power the next generation of Globalization apps.
You will be involved from ideation to rollout. Some responsibilities may include the following:
  • Creating platforms and tools for Globalization including user notifications and content engineering.
  • Create tools/platforms using NodeJS and React.
  • Create tools and utilities to monitor our component logs using React and Elasticsearch.
  • Create react components and tests using ReactTestUtils/Jest.
  • Define, design and implement some reports/graphs to help us quickly and easily visualize and understand the status of content or notifications content.
  • Prototype implementing native app version of internal tools using react-native and react-js web apps.
  • You will evangelize the culture of enabling every person to participate fully in the global economy through PayPal.

Job Requirements
  • 2 or more years experience with software projects
  • Understanding of concepts needed to design and develop personalized and modular or pluggable software and products
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills, creative thinking
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and programming
  • Dynamic, collaborative and curious
  • Willingness to learn, experiment and prototype with new and upcoming technologies
  • Experience writing JavaScript code including experience with common libraries (JQuery and Angular/Ember/React), debugging tools (Chrome Dev Tools, etc.) and source control (GitHub).
  • Experience with UI web development: html, javascript, css, AJAX, bootstrap
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field
