Job Description Summary: We are hiring a senior product manager on the Consumer Onboarding team. In this role, you would be responsible for driving the product strategy and implementation for a platform product which delivers both engineering and product delivery efficiencies across PayPal, Inc. by unifying the underlying platforms and experiences for account creation.

About Our Team and Your Role:
In the Consumer Experiences and Platform organization, we are responsible for delivering exceptional experiences for all consumers of PayPal services. We are fierce consumer advocates, who work hard to optimize our account creation, in-app, and online experiences for account servicing to best meet our customer’s needs. While each domain team has deep knowledge and responsibility in their areas, we are also a horizontal organization, meaning that we work closely with cross-functional teams across all of PayPal, Inc to ensure we are supporting the latest and greatest products and services, legal or compliance requirements, and other business priorities.
Our team is responsible for consumer onboarding and core platforms. We optimize the account creation experiences for our users, where every click, field, and word counts, to drive the best conversion for our prospective customers.
In this role, you will be responsible for the roadmap of the Onboarding Platform, which has a goal to unify the many signup flows across PayPal Inc while providing customized onboarding experiences based on the user’s intention. You will be actively engaging cross-functionally with multiple parties such as Design, Engineering, PMO, Risk, Data Services and other domain teams to deliver PayPal consumers with the best onboarding experiences while streamlining onboarding work across many areas of the company. You will optimize platform performance and experience, create platforms which ensure data quality and consistency in our accounts, and build the best possible product for both our internal and external customers.
In your role as a Product Manager, you will:

  • Propose features, define product requirements and lead successful execution of initiatives that enable efficiencies in Consumer Onboarding experiences at PayPal. This includes creating the product vision, strategy, roadmap, A/B testing, and integration strategies across account creation flows at PayPal Inc..

  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture to help determine the best technical implementation/design while balancing time-to-market needs and needs of the business.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams at PayPal and external partners to design, build, launch, and deploy new onboarding capabilities, compliance requirements, and data collection and validation tools.

  • Define and proactively monitor key performance metrics to support and inform product decisions. Engage in problem solving with analytics to determine trends and root causes.

  • Develop an engaging product that drives activation and adoption for new users and retention and engagement for existing users

  • Lead the discovery phases of new feature rollouts with a set of cross functional stakeholders from various business teams, engineering, and other product managers across the organization.

  • Evaluate trade-offs amongst multiple solutions and influence roadmap for one or more service/feature areas based on technical feasibility, business timelines and customer impact.

  • Define and analyze key performance metrics to support and inform product decisions

  • Use A/B Testing, analytics, market research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to drive decision making

  • Establish deep understanding of platform and technology in product area to create scalable & flexible solutions.

  • Build trust and effective relationships with peers/cross-functional teams.


Job Requirements:


  • 5+ years of product management experience, or combination of product & engineering experience.

  • Experience building and maintaining platform products.

  • Experience integrating solutions with internal or external customers with varying requirements

  • Ability to understand and write architecture and platform requirements

  • Ability to translate product needs to technology and understand technology. You should be detail-oriented, unfazed by technical detail, and committed to flawless execution and high quality standards.

  • Ability to participate in technical discussions and help make technical trade-offs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are a collaborator, and have an ability to influence and build relationships in a matrixed organization.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Understanding of data driven approaches to draw insights which will influence decisions with positive business results


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with onboarding/account creation products

  • Knowledge of data analytics
